NCB seizes major narcotics consignment from fruit truck in Jammu, seize 50 Kg heroin, one arrested

Jammu: In a major seizure of contraband substance consignment Narcotics Control Bureau, Jammu Zone, has recovered 50 kg of heroin from a fruit laden truck at Toll Plaza near Jammu on highway.

Narcotics Control Bureau, in a press statement said that they intercepted Apple laden trucks on November 5.

“During unloading of one truck three wooden apple boxes were found in which 50 packets of heroin have been concealed. NCB, Jammu zone thus effected major seizure of 50.120kg of heroin on 6.11.2018 from an apple laden truck and arrested 1 person, resident of district Kupwara,” NCB said.

The NCB said that it is the third biggest seizure of heroin of the current year in India by any agency. The biggest heroin seizure of this year was also effected by NCB Jammu Zone only. NCB is strengthening its Jammu Zone and Chandigarh Zone and these big seizures are a result of NCB initiatives in North West India.

The truck according to the NCB was destined for Delhi.
