90 % transmission damaged due to recent snowfall: Cable TV operators

Srinagar, Nov 12: The cable TV operators of south Kashmir Monday expressed resentment against the government for failing to provide any compensation to them, saying that like horticulture, the cable TV operators also suffered a huge loss in the recent and untimely snowfall across the Valley.
The cable TV operators told KNS that thousands of unemployed youth are working in the field but after suffering a huge loss due to the recent snowfall, their future is at stake.
“Due to recent snowfall, about 90 percent transmission has been damaged and unfortunately, no compensation has been announced in our favour, thus leaving thousands of families to suffer,” the cable TV operators said.
“We are educated but unemployed youth and having loans from banks but govt never compensated us,” they said, appealing the authorities to look into the matter at an earliest so that they could also heave a sigh of relief.
“We are promoting Kashmiri culture through our local channels but nobody appreciated us ever,” they said. (KNS)
