Purchase raw material from reputed houses: Dr Kabir to food operators

JAMMU, Dec 10: A delegation of Kashmir Bakers Association and Jammu Bakers Association led by Neeraj Anand, President Chamber of Traders Federation Jammu called upon Dr Kabir Dar, Commissioner Food Safety, Jammu and Kashmir and discussed various issues related to food operators business.
Neeraj Anand urged upon Dr Kabir to help increase ease of doing business and also offered all help to make food operators aware of changing business environment as per FSSAI framework.
He said that working in this trouble torn state is also a challenge for food operators and department should play a facilitators role and discourage punitive action especially in far flung areas of the state.
Omer M Bhat, President, Kashmir Bakers Association and Shiv Kumar Gupta, President Jammu Bakers Association, also apprised the Commissioner about their role their respective associations are playing in educating their members about FSSAI rules and regulations besides how they are emphasizing on moral duty to supply hygienic and quality food products to the consumers.
While appreciating the positive role being played by Chamber of Traders Federation and the member associations, Dr Kabir assured the delegation of departments full cooperation in educating and creating a sense of confidence among all the food operators of the state.
He also appealed that food operators must also keep a watch on fly by night sellers and purchase raw materials only from deputed houses so that chances of adulteration are checked and minimized.
Dr Parvesh, Additional Commissioner Food Safety Jammu besides Majid Sofi, President Anantnag Bakers Association, Vijay Saraf Sect Amar Singh Club, Parveen Gupta, Tushar Mahajan, Balwinder Singh were also present.
