Ten shops gutted in night blaze in Handwara

Handwara, Jan 09 : As many as 10 shops were completely burnt and goods in lakhs damaged after a major fire broke out at the Handwara market of Frontier District, late on Tuesday night.

Reports said the incident was reported around 12 : 20 Am, at Prem Gali Handwara in one of the shop and soon spread to the neighbouring shops. It was declared a Level III blaze.

However, after strenuous efforts by Fire and Emergency department the fire was put under control but till that ten shops were completely burnt.

However no loss of life or injury was reported in the major fire mishap.

Police took cognizance of this fire incident.

Meanwhile fire affected shopkeepers appealed authorities for compensation sothat they can run their business again in a smooth way.
