DC Kargil visits Sankoo, Tai Suru; listens to public grievances

KARGIL, JANUARY 13:- Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil, Vikas Kundal  visited several villages of Sankoo and Tai Suru blocks and interacted with the public to have an on spot know how of their problems and grievances.

The Deputy Commissioner was accompanied by Superintendent of Police Kargil Dr Vinod Kumar, Executive Engineer Suru Valley Division Sajjad Hussain Wazir, Tehsildar Tai Suru besides other concerned district and block level officers.

During the course of visit, DC Kargil met a number of public delegations at Sangrah, Panikhar, Tangole, Thangboo, Purtikchay and adjoining villages who apprised him about their problems, demands and grievances for early redressal.

The demands presented by the people mainly included the augmentation of water and power supply, maintenance of roads, Medicare facilities and other related issues.

After listening to the demands of the locals patiently, the DC assured that all their genuine demands put forth by the public shall be met on priority in a phased manner.

The DC exhorted upon the officers to provide services pertaining to their respective departments to the people in the best possible manner.

Meanwhile, the DC also visited 1 MW Chilung Mini Hydel Project and took stock of power supply from the project to the people during season.

The DC was informed that at present the project is being operated on trial run basis and is providing 500KW electricity which caters to the power requirements of Tai Suru area from Achambur to Khawos.

While inquiring from the officers about the snow clearance plan in the area during winter months, the DC stressed the concerned to keep their men and machinery in full readiness to carry out snow clearance and road maintenance works on Kargil Sankoo, Sankoo Tai Suru as well the interior roads in case of snowfall.

The DC while underlining the need for regular attendance of employees in offices to address peoples’ issues and grievances directed officers to check attendance of all employees on regular basis.

He also instructed to take strict action against employees found absent from duties.
