Lok Sabha polls: CEO convenes meeting with political parties on Jan 18

Srinagar, Jan 17 : The Chief Electoral Officer Jammu and Kashmir state have convened a meeting of all political parties in Jammu on January 18 regarding conduction of the Lok Sabha elections in the state.

In a letter sent to ten political parties including National Conference, PDP, Congress and BJP, the CEO has also hinted that parliamentary and assembly election may not take place together in the state.

“In order to review the general preparedness for the forthcoming General Elections 2019, Chief Electoral Officer J&K has desired to convene a meeting of all political parties on January 18 at 11:00 am in his office chamber, Vikas Bhawan Railhead complex, Jammu,” reads the letter address to the president/general secretaries of the parties by Deputy CEO, J&K, Anil Salgotra. “Accordingly I am directed to request you to attend the said meeting on the scheduled date and time,” adds the letter, a copy of which lies with GNS.
