Anantnag Fidayeen Attack: Slain militant buried in Rajwar of north Kashmir

Srinagar, June 13 : A “foreign” militant who was killed after carrying out a fidayeen attack on CRPF and police on Wednesday was buried in Rajwar, Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Thursday night.

Reports said that after completing all medico-legal formalities, the militant’s body was taken to Rajwar Handwara from Anantnag district where it was later handed over to members of local Auqaf at Wader Balla area.

The slain was later buried at Nagni forests of Wader Balla, they said.

A police officer also confirmed that the slain was buried in the area.

Five CRPF troopers including two officers of ASI rank were killed while three others besides an SHO were injured after militants carrying out the fidayeen attack on Wednesday late afternoon. One of the militants was later gunned down by the joint team of forces. A teenage girl was also injured during the incident.

Meanwhile, a police officer told that they have intensified the investigations to probe the incident and to trace out the elements who executed the plan.

He said that a case under FIR number 105/2019 302/, 307 RPC and 7/27 A Act has been registered in connection with the attack. (GNS)
