Police arrests two drug peddlers in Sopore

Sopore, July 10 : Police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested two drug peddlers cum suppliers in Sopore town of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police in a statement said in order to eradicate the menace of drug peddling from Police district Sopore, two drug peddlers were arrested by a team of police.

Statement said that on a reliable information regarding the distribution/supply of drugs by peddlers among the vulnerable section of society, a Police party of Police Post Warpora headed by Incharge Police post Warpora Sajad Ahmad under the supervision of SDPO Sopore Raja Majid established a naka at Warpora crossing and apprehended two drug peddlers/supplies.

The duo identified as Abdul Hamid Mir son of Ab Rashid Mir and Bilal Ahmad Chopan son of Gh Mohiudin Chopan both residents of Janwara Sopore.

Police statement further said that some packets of charas were recovered from their possession.

In this regard a case FIR No.’s 190/2019 U/S 8/20, NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Sopore & investigation taken up.
