Anantnag police arrests 02 drug peddlers, psychotropic substances seized

February 09: Police in its recent action against drug dealings in Anantnag arrested 02 drug peddlers and seized psychotropic substances from their possession.

Officers at a checkpoint established at Arwani Bridge intercepted an Alto K-10 vehicle bearing Registration number JK03F-2341 with one person on board identified as Khursheed Ahmad Dar resident of Tulkhan. During search of the vehicle officers recovered 35 strips of Spasmoproxyvon containing 840 tablets.

Case FIR No. 08/2020 under relevant sections of law  has been registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation into the matter  has been initiated.

Separately,officers at a checkpoint established near Goriwan Chowk Bijbehara intercepted a Santro vehicle bearing Registration number JKO1S-5078 with one person on board identified as Javaid Ahmad Dar resident of Tulkhan Bijbehara. During search of the vehicle officers recovered 52 bottles of Codicof-T.

 Case FIR No 09/2020 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Bijbehara and investigation into the matter has been taken up. 

They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Bijbehara where they remain in custody. Both the vehicles used in the commission of crime have also been seized.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddlers in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Police has resolved to deal robustly with drug peddlers. 

Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.
