NORTH KASHMIR TEENAGERS VOW TO PURSUE PATH TO SUCCESSFUL CAREER

Srinagar, 10 Feb 2020: In an initiative undertaken by the Army under the aegis of Watlab Army Camp, a ‘Career Counselling Week’ was org for the youth of Bandipora and Baramulla districts wef 19 to 22 Jan 20.

         The ‘Career Counselling’ sessions for the teenagers of Bandipora and Baramulla dists were primarily focused to guide the youth about the various career options available in the fields of ‘Skill Development’ and ‘Sports’ after formal schooling and the path to pursue such coveted goals and successful careers. The topics for the counselling sessions were selected on the basis of inputs and choices of the local youth. Further, as part of the opening and closing address two general career counsellings sessions were also org.

         The counselling sessions through video conferencing were conducted by nominated counsellors from Aseem Foundation (Pune based NGO) which included Dr. Shriram Geet, Career Advisor, author of 13 books and experience of conductiong over 10,000 career counselling sessions during a span of 15 years, Dr. Pooja More, Director, Information Skill Development Centre, University of Pune, Mr. Jeevan Chaukar, Founder, Sports Zeal System and Mr. Sanjay H Inamdar, Alumni of MIT, Harvard and Carnegie Mellon, Co-Founder of Bhau Institute of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Leadership and Mr. Gaurav Gore prominent entrepreneur.

         The success of this outreach program was evident from the contentment and satisfaction exhibited by the youth and their parents.The attendance of 517 teenagers and their parents over a pd of four days, keenness and the strong desire of the youth to pursue their dreams of successful career witnessed during the interactive sessions also substantiates the success of the counselling sessions.

         During the conduct of the event participants including parents expressed their gratitude to the Indian Army and Aseem Foundation for orgthe event, as it would go a long way in channelising their respective endeavours in right direction and pave the way for better career and future ahead.
