Kmr police, act tough to enforce complete lockdown

Srinagar, Mar 25 (KINS): The police were out on streets here on Wednesday to enforce a strict lockdown across the valley.

Sources said that in the wake of coronavirus outbreak, the Police forces acting tough against people defying the shutdown.

According to the KINS city correspondent, the policemen stood guard at various stretches of deserted roads barricaded with barbed wire to discourage people from venturing out of their homes.

Only those providing essential supplies and services or having any emergency were allowed on roads by cops, one of the top police officials told Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

Jammu and Kashmir administration have sealed the interstate borders with Punjab, Himachal Pradesh and the UT of Ladakh, as part of the efforts to combat coronavirus.(KINS)

Four more persons, all from Bandipora, test positive for Covid-19: J&K Govt

Srinagar, March 25 (KINS): A day after three persons including a religious preacher of Tableegi Jamaat was tested positive for Covid-19, the J&K government on Wednesday said that four more persons have been tested positive and all of them are from Bandipora district.

In his tweet, J&K Government’s spokesman Rohit Kansal said that four more persons, all from Bandipora, tested positive today. “Preliminary findings suggest that they were in close contact of Srinagar patient who tested positive yesterday.

All five reported to have participated together in a religious event,” Kansal tweet. With the four more fresh cases, the total positive cases in Kashmir.(KINS)
