PM Modi to address the nation tomorrow, ‘likely to announce further plans of Govt to tackle spread of covid-19’

Srinagar, Apr 13 (KINS): As the Covid-19 pandemic is holding tight grip on India and rest of the world, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the nation tomorrow morning on further plans of the Government to tackle the spread of Covid19 pandemic in the country.

Sources told KINS that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is likely to extend the lockdown for two more weeks. “PM is expected to announce an extension of the 21-day lockdown that ends Tuesday midnight,” sources said.

Almost all central ministers and senior bureaucrats have resumed work Monday after a 19-day break as part of the COVID-19 lockdown.

Already, the government has made some relaxations to service sectors like Agriculture and Marine industry amid suggestions from Minister for Medium and Small Scale Industries to gradually open up some units both to bring back economy on the rails.

Sources told KINS that Centre is likely to categorise the country into red, orange and green zones depending on the number of COVID-19 cases, and might allow limited services to function in the safe zones.

Sources also said that Limited domestic air and train services may be allowed in selected sectors with few passengers while limited metro services may also be started in cities on same pattern.

The people across the country are thoroughly following both stay at home and social distancing policies of government strongly recommended as a measure to prevent the spread of the virus.(KINS)
