SHOPIAN, APRIL 25: To ensure universal mask usage, Rural Development Department, Shopian has intensified cloth mask distribution among the people across the district, under the instructions the District Development Commissioner (DDC), Shopian, Choudhary Mohammad Yasin,
“We have intensified the distribution of masks in all panchayats of the district”, Additional Deputy Commissioner Shopian, Dr Ab Aziz said, while briefing media during distribution of masks, here at Mini Secretariat Arhama Shopian, among the Block Development Officers, Village Level Workers and other concerned in presence of Assistant Commissioner Development.
He said that 86,000 triple layer surgical masks were distributed among the frontline workers and red zone areas and the process will continue till the whole district is covered.
Besides, sanitation cum fumigation drives continues across the district to decontaminate public places, quarantine centers and health institutions, to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
The department has engaged the SHG, JK Women’s Development Corporation, PMEGP beneficiaries and local tailors, for manufacturing of the masks.
