20 injured as bus turns turtle in Handwara

Handwara, August 25: A passenger bus turned turtle, leaving at least 20 passengers injured in Handwara village of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Tuesday.


An official told KINS that a bus bearing registration number JK09 0557 was on its way to Tarathpora from Handwara.


He said when the bus reached Batpora the driver lost control over the wheels and bus turned turtle leaving at least 20 passengers injured.
However, all the injured were rushed to Handwara hospital for treatment.


Meanwhile, a senior doctor at Handwara hospital confirmed this road mishap to KINS said, ” We received twenty patients who were injured in a bus accident, he said all the injured passengers were given preliminary treatment and now all are stable,” he added.


The doctor identified all injured as Asha Begum W/O Ab Razaq Mir R/0 Trathpora age 60 yrs,Basit Ahmad S/o Mohammad Iqbal Mir R/O daril Trathpora age 10 Yrs,Rubeena D/o Mohammad Jamal Kumar R/o Sunmullah age 11 yrs,Ulfat D/o Mohd Iqbal Mir R/o. Daril Tarthpora age ,Saleema Begum w/o Fayaz Ahmad Bhat R/o Punzwa Villgam,Hafeeza Bagum w/o. Manzoor Ahmad Hajam R/o Punzwa Villgam,Hafizullah S/o. ab Star Shah R/o Villgam,Samia D/o Mohd Beigh Kuiyal Tarthpora,Mohd Hayat Hajam S/o. Mohd Sultan Hajam R/o Sairajpora,Nazir Ahmad S/o Ab Khaliq R/o Saimulla Villgam,Uzma Akhter D/o. Nazir Ahamd Zargar R/o.kniyal Villgam,Pakeeza Nabi D/o Gh Nabi bhat R/o kuniyal Tarthpora,Aesha Begum w/o Mohd Jamal R/o. Sunmullah,Sheikh Mustafa S/o. gh Mohd Sheikh R/o. A police officer told that a case in this regard has been registered.
