Public outreach programme organised at Chittergul, Shangus


ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 29: District Administration Anantnag today organized public outreach cum Jan Abhiyan programmes at CD Blocks of Chittergul and Nowgam, Shangus here.
The outreach programme was attended by a large number of general public, representatives of Auqaf, BDC chairpersons, panches, sarpanches.
On the occasion, the public representatives raised various issues related to irrigation, diversion of Qazinag, 04 km road connectivity that will connect Pahalgam road, installation of new transformers, and transfer of 65 kanal kachari land at Chatpal to tourism department, drinking water and land compensation of PMGSY roads, pending work done liabilities of MGNREGA of 2016-17 besides various other issues.
District Development Commissioner (DDC) Anantnag, Kuldeep Krishen Sidha gave a patient hearing to the public and assured them of resolving their issues at an earliest.
He said that the aim of conducting Jan Abhiyan, public outreach programme is to assess the needs and to get feedback from the general public about various welfare schemes of the Government and their implementation on gross roots level.
The DDC stressed for taking action against drug addicts and sought cooperation from civil society, religious leaders for controlling the drug menace.
He also directed AEE PHE to start construction work on filtration plant which is non functional from last 06 years and instructed officers to conduct awareness cum registration camps by labor, Animal husbandry, social welfare, sheep husbandry, Agriculture and allied sectors for registration of beneficiaries to be covered under various welfare schemes.
The DDC also visited Chatapal for launch of sanitation drive at the tourist resort Chatapal and Government Middle School Poshnar and directed the BDO for construction of school boundary wall, tile path and fencing of graveyard.
During the visit, the DDC was accompanied by ACR Anantnag, LDM JK Bank Anantnag, CMO, DSWO,CHO, CAO, CAHO, Tehsildars, Revenue officers, AEE’s of PHE, PDD,R&B, PMGSY and BMO’s.
