Advisor Sharma attends 42nd GST Council Meeting


Srinagar, Oct 12: Advisor to Lieutenant Governor K.K Sharma today attended 42nd Meeting of GST Council through Video conferencing.
The meeting held under the Chairmanship of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman was attended by Finance Ministers of different states.
The Advisor while representing the UT of Jammu and Kashmir put forth views regarding different agenda points discussed during the course of meeting. The discussion was in continuation to the agenda item already discussed in the earlier GST Council meeting held on 5th October, 2020.
Pertinently, the states and UTs were asked by GST Council to exercise the options given by Union Finance Minister to meet the revenue gap arising due to implementation of GST and protected revenue guaranteed by the Constitution of India as per 101 amendment.
Financial Commissioner Finance Arun Mehta, Commissioner Sales Tax PK Bhat and other senior officers also attended.
