DC Gbl reviews formulation of brief documents of wetlands of the district

Ganderbal June 23 (KINS): The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today took a detailed review of initiatives taken for formulation of brief documents under Wetland Rules, 2017 for three main wetlands of Manasbal Lake, Waskurasar and Ahansar located in district Ganderbal. 
ACR Ganderbal, DFO Sindh, Ex. Engineer Jal Shakti (I & FC), AD Fisheries, District Pollution Officer, Tehsildar Waskura, BDO Ganderbal, AE Mansbal Dev. Authorities were present in the meeting.
It was informed in the meeting that most of the work related to data compilation has been completed and the delineation of water bodies is under progress.
The DC directed for coordination of all the stakeholders for early completion of the exercise. Experts from the Department of Environment and University of Kashmir gave a brief detail of the action plan to be implemented for brief document preparation.
It is pertinent to mention that the brief document of the 8 identified water bodies of J&K falling in district Srinagar, Budgam and Ganderbal is being made for their notification under Wetland Management Rules, 2017.
Domain experts Dr. Tasneem Keng, Scientist Department of Environment & Ecology, Dr Samiullah Asst. Professor Kashmir University, Dr.Shabir Ahmed Scientist J&K PCC, Shabir Ahmed I/C ICT Forests were also present in the meeting. (KINS)
