DC Kupwara chairs public hearing regarding environment clearance of mineral blocks

KUPWARA, JUNE 30 (KINS): Jammu & Kashmir Pollution Control Committee Kupwara today organized a public hearing for environment clearance of minor mineral, river bed mineral project for block No. 2, 7, 8, 10 and 18 at Town Hall Kupwara.

The function was chaired by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kupwara, Imam Din. Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Nazir Ahmad Lone; District Mineral Officer Kupwara, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti, besides, the citizens of respective blocks were present on the occasion.

Threadbare discussion was held on the occasion and the participants were heard patiently by the DC and concerned officers.

Addressing the function, the DC assured that general concerns of people will be taken care of and extraction process shall always be carried out in a systematic and scientific manner. He also said that any person from the concerned mineral block which is being operationalized soon can approach anytime the concerned officer and District administration for redressal of any grievance.

The ADDC also spoke on the occasion and urged people to cooperate with the administration as well as the concerned department, adding that the department of Geology & Mining should also consider the issues of the concerned people. (KINS)
