Positivity rate decline to less than 1% in Kupwara: DC Kupwara

 

KUPWARA, JULY 5 (KINS): Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Imam Din while briefing about the improvement of Covid situation in the district reiterated his message for the general public to continue the use of mask and maintenance of Covid appropriate behaviour and other SOPs to inhibit the resurgence of the Covid.

He expressed gratitude for the people of district Kupwara for implementation of Covid appropriate Behaviour religiously. Besides, he also thanked employees of all departments who rendered selfless service in curbing the Covid pandemic.

The Deputy Commissioner again appealed to the people not to lower the guard against the Covid pandemic. He said the positivity rate has declined to 0.71%, while recovery rate has gone up to 97% which is a good sign of satisfaction for the district.

Regarding vaccination, the Deputy Commissioner said that 67% of the target population of above 45 age has been covered till date. Moreover, 16% of 18-44 years age group has been vaccinated so far in the district. He said the only way to keep the Covid at bay is to follow the Covid appropriate behaviour and get vaccinated.

On the occasion, District Information Officer, Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir and Nodal Officer Covid, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh was present.
