DC Gbl reviews working of OSC

GANDERBAL, JULY 06(KINS): Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Krittika Jyotsna today said that the purpose of One Stop Centre (OSC) is to provide integrated services to distress women affected by domestic abuse and violence both in private and public places under one roof.

She said this during a meeting convened to review the functioning of OSC for women in the district.

During the meeting the concerned briefed the DC about the functioning of OSC presently established at HOPE Disability Centre, (NGO) Wayil Ganderbal,

On the occasion, threadbare discussion was held on the facilities provided to the aggrieved women, total cases registered and status of follow up cases at the OSC.

The representatives of the NGO informed that the centre also assists the aggrieved women and children by providing police assistance, medical aid, psycho-social counseling, legal aid and provide other allied facilities under one roof.

While reviewing services provided to distress victims, Jyotsna stressed all stakeholders to create awareness about the functioning and facilities available at the OSC so that the people will get a clear knowledge about the working of OSC for the empowerment of women and their welfare.

She said that by providing counseling sessions and other legal facilities will surely boost morale and brings lasting confidence among distressed victims and said that district administration will take all possible steps to eradicate this menace of social injustice particularly domestic abuses and violence that are on rise at present.

The meeting was attended by all committee members including SSP Ganderbal, Additional Commissioner Panchayat, CMO, DPO and members from Civil Society. (KINS)
