    ADDC Gbl reviews Muharram arrangements

GANDERBAL, JULY 24(KINS): The Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Ganderbal, Muzafar Ahmad Peer today chaired a meeting to review the arrangements to be put in place for smooth celebration of upcoming Muharram.

On the occasion, a detailed discussion was held upon the arrangements to be put in place like uninterrupted drinking water and power supply, adequate ration, health facility, installation of lights at vital locations, Sanitation, fire wood especially during the auspicious days and other related facilities.

The ADDC urged upon the concerned that special arrangements shall be made in view of the present circumstances emerged due to COVID-19 outbreak.

Speaking on the occasion, the ADDC stressed upon the concerned officers to make adequate arrangements with regard to uninterrupted power and water supply more especially in Shia dominated areas so that the devotees may not face any inconvenience.

The Municipal authorities were directed to ensure sanitation of all the vital locations viz Imam Baras, shrines and masjids. He also directed the health authorities to make adequate arrangements and sensitize the general public about the Covid SOPs.

The ADDC appealed to follow all the related SOPs and guidelines in letter and spirit so that the risk of COVID-19 infection is mitigated.

Among others, the meeting was attended by SSP Ganderbal, ADC, SDM, Kangan district and sectoral officers, heads of various line departments, representatives of various Shia associations besides other functionaries. (KINS)
