SHOPIAN, AUGUST 21 ( KINS ) : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Sachin Kumar Vaishya today appreciated the people of Shopian for their efforts in mitigation of COVID-19 pandemic.
The DC was addressing a presser in his office chamber, at Mini Secretariat, here.
Giving details, the DC said that 100 percent people of above 45 years age group have been vaccinated in the district and added that the process of vaccination of 18 to 44 year age group is going on speedily.
He said that the positivity rate is decreasing each passing day and similarly the recovery rate is also increasing on a daily basis, which is a sign of satisfaction.
Vaishya reiterated his appeal to the people as well as the elected representatives of the district to continuously follow the Covid Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) and other SOPs and also motivate others especially the younger generation for getting themselves vaccinated at an earliest.
He appealed to the people above 18 years age group to come forward and administer Covid vaccine at their nearby vaccination centres for their safety against the pandemic.
He said by following Covid Appropriate Behaviour and other SOPs religiously, the possible third wave of Covid-19 can be kept at bay.
The DC asked the youth not to give ear to the rumours and added that those who got themselves vaccinated are quite safe and sound, so there is no need to worry.
He emphasized on wearing masks, maintaining social distance and avoiding the crowded places to remain safe.
