Won’t allow disruption of peace, devastation of future of J&K: DGP Dilbagh Singh

Srinagar, Oct 21 (KINS): Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbagh Singh on Thursday said that the targeted killings of civilians and minorities of J&K was a conspiracy to destroy the future of the people of J&K and to disrupt peace and to prompt a communal split.

He, however, said that J&K police and security forces will thwart all such plans and will not allow militants to succeed.

Singh while addressing at police commemoration day function at armed police complex Zewan Srinagar said that these militants while acting on the directions of their instructors from across the LoC, resorted to violence by killing innocent civilians and members of minority community. 

“These targeted killings were aimed at triggering communal split in Kashmir. But police and other forces took action swiftly to thwart the plans of militants and their instructors,” he said.

He said that they will not allow disruption of peace and devastation of future of J&K no matter what. “The killings of civilians not only disrupted the peace in the valley but also hit the livelihood of common people of Kashmir as well as of minority community members. We have given a befitting reply to the enemies of peace and will continue to do that in future for the safeguard of valley,” he said.

Singh said that this year so far 370 policemen and security forces have sacrificed their lives for the safety of the country. 

Meanwhile, DGP paid rich tributes to all the policemen who were killed in the line of action stating that police is committed to protect the integrity of country and to keep peace intact in J&K. (KINS)
