Police distributes essential items among specially-abled persons in Budgam*

*August 11:* “`As a part of Civic Action Programme, Police in Budgam have distributed essential items among specially-abled persons hailing from various parts of district in an event at DPL Budgam.

SSP Budgam Al-Tahir Gilani-JKPS distributed essential items including Sewing machines, Iron, Thread box, scale, measuring, tape/Printer, Copier, Scanner and Lamination Machine among 35 specially-abled persons hailing from various parts of district Budgam.

SSP Budgam while interacting with the beneficiaries expressed the hope that the assistance provided by the Police to the specially-abled persons may help them to become self-reliant to some extent. He also assured them all possible support from Police department in order to make their lives easy and comfortable. He said that the persons with physical challenges need to be taken care-off by the society. He further stated that Police department will always play its eminent role in this regard. He advised the Police officers and jawans to show empathy and kindness towards such segment of the society and come forward with helping hands to make them feel part and parcel of the society. He also asked the beneficiaries not to allow their physical hindrances and infirmities to come in their ways and to stay active in their lives in pursuit goals.

The event concluded with a sense of collective resolve to build a society that not only acknowledges but also actively supports the diverse needs and aspirations of all its members.“`
