ISHTIYAQ KAR

Srinagar, Dec 10: In a significant operation, the CIK wing of Jammu and Kashmir Police successfully dismantled an unregistered news portal named “Daily News & Analysis,” which sported a Pakistan flag logo.
As per the officials the portal had been under scrutiny for its dissemination of misleading information aimed at disturbing peace and tranquility in the region.

The CIK team, led by diligent officers, executed the operation that resulted in the apprehension of the portal’s administrators. The arrests were made in connection with the alleged propagation of false narratives that could potentially incite unrest.

Authorities have taken swift legal action against administrators for their role in spreading rumors and false information. The unregistered news portal, operating without the necessary legal approvals, had been a source of concern for its potential to influence public sentiment negatively.

As part of the ongoing investigation, the digital devices belonging to the arrested individuals are currently undergoing scrutiny. This meticulous examination aims to uncover the extent of their involvement in the dissemination of fake news and to identify any potential collaborators.

The J&K Police, through the CIK wing, reiterates its commitment to maintaining peace and order in the region. The crackdown on unauthorized news portals spreading misinformation underscores the importance of responsible journalism in preserving the well-being of the community and preventing the escalation of tensions.

Citizens are urged to remain vigilant and verify information from reliable sources to combat the spread of false news, which can have severe consequences on communal harmony and public safety. The successful operation against “Daily News & Analysis” serves as a stern warning to those engaging in unlawful activities that undermine the stability of the region, said the officials.
