Dr Jitender Singh welcomes inclusion of udhampur & kathua stops in upcoming vande bharat train from Katra to Delhi

Jammu, Dec 24: Union Minister Dr Jitender Singh revealed today that, in response to persistent requests, the upcoming Vande Bharat train service between Katra and Delhi, commencing on December 30th, will include stops in Udhampur and Kathua. This announcement is expected to bring immense relief to the residents of these regions, offering improved travel convenience, enhanced business connectivity, and an overall improvement in the quality of life.

The decision to incorporate Udhampur and Kathua as stops on the Vande Bharat route comes after a prolonged demand from the local communities since the inauguration of the first Vande Bharat train between Katra and Delhi in 2019. The addition of these stops is poised to make travel more accessible and efficient for the people of Udhampur and Kathua.

Expressing gratitude, Dr Jitender Singh conveyed his thanks to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for his support in addressing the long-standing demand. The move is seen as a proactive step towards fostering regional development and connectivity, aligning with the government’s vision to enhance ease of living across various parts of the country.

The news has been welcomed with enthusiasm, particularly in Udhampur and Kathua, as residents anticipate the positive impact this development will have on their daily lives and regional economic activities. The extended reach of the Vande Bharat train is poised to contribute significantly to the growth and prosperity of these areas.
