Srinagar Dec 25: Muhammad Yousuf Bhat, the former Chief Engineer and Vice-Chairman of Srinagar Development Authority (SDA), breathed his last on Sunday at the age of 73 after a brief battle with illness, including cancer. Hailing originally from Fateh Kadal area in Downtown, Srinagar, Bhat had been residing near the Police Station in Rajbagh.
Muhammad Yousuf Bhat’s final moments were at SKIMS, Srinagar, where he succumbed to his illness on December 24, 2023. He is survived by his wife, daughter, and son, and mourned by his elder brother, trader Muhammad Amin Bhat.
The family has announced that the congregational prayers for the departed will take place at his residence opposite the Police Station in Rajbagh. The Chahrum, a traditional mourning gathering, is scheduled for Thursday, December 28, 2023, at his residence.
A prominent figure, Muhammad Yousuf Bhat was widely recognized for his proactive role in overseeing various civil and developmental projects in Srinagar and other district headquarters. Colleagues remember him not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his profound sense of humanity and willingness to extend a helping hand, earning him numerous accolades.
