Amit Shah Chairs Key Security Meeting on JK, ‘LG Manoj Sinha, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande, NSA Ajit Doval Present

Srinagar, Jan 02: In a concerted effort to address heightened security concerns and ensure the overall well-being of Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah took the lead in orchestrating a crucial high-level security review meeting. The gathering included key government and security officials, reflecting the seriousness of the discussions.
The notable presence of dignitaries such as Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Chief Secretary Atal Duloo, Army Chief Gen Manoj Pande, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval underscored the gravity of the matters under consideration.
The extensive review encompassed security challenges across the entire Jammu and Kashmir region, emphasizing the refinement of the area domination plan, the implementation of a zero-terror approach, and the resolution of law and order issues.
Insider sources revealed that a significant portion of the meeting delved into assessing the law and order situation, particularly in the border districts. The examination aimed at understanding prevailing conditions and challenges, underscoring the government’s commitment to maintaining stability in the border areas.
Considerable attention was dedicated to fostering economic growth, with discussions focusing on generating job opportunities and attracting investments to benefit the local youth. The meeting sought to translate development initiatives into tangible on-ground benefits for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the crucial role of strengthening local intelligence, recognizing it as a key element in ensuring regional security. The participation of other high-ranking officials, including Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Director Intelligence Bureau Tapan Deka, and Director Generals of Central Reserve Police Force and the Border Security Force, contributed to a holistic approach in addressing security concerns.
The Home Minister, addressing the security situation, scrutinized cases related to the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other security-related issues. The comprehensive approach aimed not only to address immediate concerns but also to lay the groundwork for sustainable development and lasting peace in the region.
Stakeholders were advised to continue their collaborative efforts towards Jammu and Kashmir’s prosperity and security. The deliberations underscored a shared vision for a thriving and peaceful future for the Union Territory.
Meanwhile, discussions also included considerations for the timing of Municipal and Panchayat elections in the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory, according to reports.
