J&K Bank Adds Miles to Smiles of Special Children: Provides 30-Seater Bus to Zeba Aapa Institute Under CSR

Srinagar, Mar 30:In a bid to enhance the accessibility of transportation services for persons with disabilities, especially specially-abled children, J&K Bank extended its support by donating a 30-seater school bus as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program to Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline (HWOH). The bus will cater to the differently-abled students enrolled at the Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education.
During a ceremony held at Bijbehara Anantnag, J&K Bank’s General Manager Syed Rais Maqbool presented the symbolic key of the school bus to the Chief Functional Officer of HOWH, Adil Rashid Vaid. The event was attended by DGM Ashok Gupta, Zonal Head Anantnag Khurshid Muzaffar, along with other bank officials and representatives of the NGO.
Speaking at the event, Syed Rais Maqbool emphasized the bank’s commitment to supporting various sections of society, particularly those in need of extra assistance. He stated, “At J&K Bank, we believe in empowering every individual to reach their full potential, and this initiative testifies our commitment.”
The donation of the 30-seater bus aims to serve as a vital resource for specially-abled children, ensuring their safe and secure transportation to and from school. Maqbool expressed satisfaction in contributing to such a meaningful cause and reiterated the bank’s dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive society for all.
Humanity Welfare Organization Helpline (HWOH), the recipient of the donation, is a local NGO dedicated to the welfare of persons with disabilities. It operates various skill development and employment generation programs for specially-abled youth and provides education and rehabilitation services to around 160 children with multiple disabilities through its Zaiba Aapa Institute of Inclusive Education.
