Srinagar, June 10: Srinagar Police have filed a chargesheet in the case registered as FIR No. 112/2023 under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act at Police Station Bemina. The chargesheet was submitted to the Court of Special Judge (NIA Court) in Srinagar.
The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Srinagar Police presented the chargesheet against four individuals accused in the December 2023 terrorist attack in Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina, which resulted in serious injuries to a J&K Police constable.
The accused are identified as Mehnan Khan of Syedpora Khawajapora, Rainawari; Imtiyaz Ahmad Khanday, also known as Raju, of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina; Danish Ahmad Malla of Hamdaniya Colony, Bemina; and Arjumand Gulzar, also known as Hamza Burhan, originally from Kharbatpora Ratnipora, Pulwama, currently in Pakistan.
Investigations revealed that the three arrested suspects acted as associates of the active terrorist Arjumand Gulzar, acquiring arms and ammunition through a coordinated criminal conspiracy to target the police constable.
While Srinagar Police have arrested three of the accused, the fourth, Arjumand Gulzar, is affiliated with the proscribed terrorist group Al Badr. The police have also begun proceedings to forfeit and attach properties and assets of the arrested individuals obtained through illegal activities, as per the provisions of the UAPA.
