Encounter Breaks Out in Kathua After Terrorists Attack Army Vehicles

Jammu, July 08 (KINS): An encounter erupted in Kathua after terrorists attacked army vehicles in Badnota village on Monday afternoon, according to officials.

The terrorists ambushed the army vehicles in Badnota village, approximately 120 km from the district headquarters. The army retaliated with return fire, leading to an ongoing encounter. “Operation is on and further details are awaited,” an official stated.

Jammu has been a high-priority target for terrorist activities, with recent attacks occurring in areas previously considered free of terrorism.

On June 9, a bus heading to the Shiv Khori cave temple was attacked in Reasi district, resulting in nine deaths and 33 injuries. On June 12, security forces killed two infiltrating terrorists in the Hiranagar area of Kathua, and on June 26, three terrorists were gunned down in Doda district.
