DC Baramulla Minga Sherpa inaugurates Global Diagnostic MRI, CT Scan
Global Diagnostic MRI and CT Scan was inaugurated by District Development Commissioner Minga Sherpa at Kanispora, Baramulla. This initiative was started by three educated youth: Mudasir Kakroo (Electrical Engineer), Firdous Ahmad, and Ahsan (Medical Engineer).
Minga Sherpa praised the youth for starting this facility in Baramulla. “Patients from North Kashmir had to travel to Srinagar to get MRI scans done. Now, this facility is available in Baramulla and will provide significant relief to the people of Baramulla and its adjacent areas,” he said. He mentioned that an MRI machine has already been sanctioned for GMC Baramulla. “It will take some time as it is a costly machine and has to go through the tendering process. We hope that by the end of this year or next year, this facility will also be available at GMC Baramulla,” he added.
One of the partners of the Diagnostic Centre said that a few years back, these three friends decided to do something for the people of Baramulla. “We decided to start this facility here, which was the need of the hour. Previously, people from far-flung areas like Uri had to travel to Srinagar to get these tests done. Last year, we started this centre, but the MRI facility was started last month after we imported the machine from America. On Muharram days, we will provide facilities free of cost to those below the poverty line and others at discounted prices,” he added.
