Srinagar, Sep 21 (KINS): BJP Senior leader Anurag Thakur highlighted the significant political changes in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370, emphasizing that the strong public turnout in both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections reflects the people’s trust in democracy and rejection of terrorism.
“After the abrogation of Article 370, if you look at the Assembly and Lok Sabha elections, it is evident that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have shown their trust in democracy and rejected terrorism. The people want peace and happiness and have decided to vote for BJP to ensure the development of J&K and the restoration of statehood,” Thakur stated as per news agency KINS.
He went on to criticize opposition parties, accusing them of aligning with anti-India forces. “The leaders of Pakistan are openly supporting Congress and the National Conference. On international platforms, Rahul Gandhi humiliates India, speaks in favor of China and Pakistan, and associates with anti-India elements,” Thakur said.
He further accused Congress of giving tickets to candidates who have chanted slogans like ‘Bharat ke tukde hon hazaar inshallah inshallah.’
Thakur also condemned the Congress and National Conference for their stance on holding talks with Pakistan, a country he claimed actively promotes terrorism. “The public of Jammu and Kashmir should give a befitting reply to those who support terrorism by aligning with Pakistan. The BJP remains committed to peace, development, and security in the region,” he added.
His comments come amid the ongoing Assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir, where various parties, including the Congress, National Conference, and BJP, are competing for 90 seats in a landmark election following the scrapping of Article 370.(KINS)
