Srinagar, Oct 02 (KINS): In honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the Srinagar Group of NCC cadets participated in a series of events at Army Public School Srinagar, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” launched on 02 Oct 2014. This campaign emphasizes hygiene and sanitation, values deeply connected to Gandhi’s life and teachings, which he advocated during his time in South Africa.
The cadets displayed a strong sense of patriotism and community service by organizing various activities, including a painting competition, singing nationalistic songs, leading cleanliness awareness drives, and presenting cultural programs. They also engaged in discussions on Gandhi’s values of peace, non-violence, and self-reliance, embodying the principles of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and “Sarvodaya” (welfare for all).
