NCC Cadets Celebrate “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” with Patriotic Spirit

Srinagar, Oct 02 (KINS): In honor of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary, the Srinagar Group of NCC cadets participated in a series of events at Army Public School Srinagar, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan,” launched on 02 Oct 2014. This campaign emphasizes hygiene and sanitation, values deeply connected to Gandhi’s life and teachings, which he advocated during his time in South Africa.
The cadets displayed a strong sense of patriotism and community service by organizing various activities, including a painting competition, singing nationalistic songs, leading cleanliness awareness drives, and presenting cultural programs. They also engaged in discussions on Gandhi’s values of peace, non-violence, and self-reliance, embodying the principles of “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” and “Sarvodaya” (welfare for all).
The event provided an opportunity for the cadets to reflect on the enduring relevance of Gandhi’s teachings and take collective action toward societal betterment. The celebration concluded with a pledge to uphold the values of unity, equality, and service, in line with Gandhi’s philosophy.(KINS)
