Srinagar, Oct 07 (KINS): A massive 7,000-kilometer car rally, dubbed ‘Vayu Veer Vijeta,’ will be flagged off from Thoise in Ladakh tomorrow to commemorate the 92nd anniversary of the Indian Air Force (IAF).
According to news agency KINS, the rally will conclude its journey in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, on the 29th of this month. Earlier, on October 1st, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh had officially sent off the rally from the National War Memorial in New Delhi.
Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways, Harsh Malhotra, has arrived in Thoise to drive Jimny cars to Leh, boosting the morale of Air Warriors.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has also extended full support to the event. Officers from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) will join the launch in Leh, carrying the tagline, “Yes, we make highways for fighter jets too.” Uttarakhand War Memorial veterans, a key rally partner, are driving to Tawang to raise awareness about the IAF’s illustrious history.(KINS)
