Security tightened for Assembly Polls Counting in Jammu: DC

KINS DESK
Srinagar, Oct 07 (KINS): Ahead of the counting day for the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly polls on October 8, the Jammu District Commissioner (DC), Sachin Kumar Vaishya, provided a detailed briefing on the security arrangements.
According to DC Vaishya, there are 11 Assembly constituencies in the Jammu district, and counting will be divided between two venues: six constituencies will have their votes counted at the Government Polytechnic College, while the remaining five will have their results processed at MM College.
News agency KINS reported that to ensure the smooth conduct of the counting process, a three-tier security system will be in place around both venues. In addition, security measures have been heightened across the surrounding areas, in line with the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Prohibitory orders have been implemented to maintain law and order, and ensure the safety of the public and election personnel.
Security arrangements have been meticulously planned to guarantee a peaceful and transparent counting process,” stated DC Vaishya, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to a secure environment on this crucial day (KINS).
