No Congress legislator will be part of Omar Abdullah-led Cabinet, says G A Mir

Srinagar, Oct 16 (KINS): The Congress party has decided to provide external support to the Omar Abdullah-led government but will not be part of his cabinet in Jammu and Kashmir.

Sources told news agency that Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) that no Congress legislator will take the oath today, although they will offer external support to Omar Abdullah’s government.

Senior Congress leader G A Mir clarified that there is no rift between the National Conference (NC) and Congress.

“We will extend support to the Omar Abdullah-led government, but none of our six legislators will join his cabinet,” Mir told Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS).

He added that the Congress is prioritizing the restoration of statehood to Jammu and Kashmir before considering cabinet participation. (KINS)
