PET suspended after assault allegations on female students in Bandipora

Srinagar, Oct 22 ( KINS): A Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Higher Secondary School (HSS) Ajas in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district has been suspended following allegations of physically assaulting female students. A formal complaint, accompanied by CCTV footage, was lodged with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora.
The District Youth Services & Sports Officer promptly removed the teacher from his duties at HSS Ajas and instructed him to report to the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports for further investigation.
“This decision ensures a safe environment for students and allows a thorough investigation,” the order stated. The incident reportedly occurred on October 18, when the teacher beat the female students with a belt for arriving late. Parents, after reviewing the CCTV footage, demanded immediate action against the teacher.( KINS)
