ACB hosts vigilance awareness program for key Govt Depts in Jammu & Kathua

Srinagar, Oct 30 (KINS): In observance of Vigilance Awareness Week 2024, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted an in-depth awareness program for officials from the Revenue, Custodian, and Mining Departments.
ACB in a statement issued to news agency KINS said that the main session was held at the DC Office in Jammu, attended by District Commissioner (DC) Jammu, Additional DC Jammu, and other senior officials, while officers from Doda, Rajouri, and Udhampur participated virtually. DC Doda joined remotely, and former MLA Shri Charanjit Singh served as the Chief Guest.
“The event featured a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation by Smt. Champa Sharma, DySP ACB, detailing common complaint types and real case studies involving the Revenue and Custodian Departments. SSP ACB Jammu, Shri Kulwant Singh Jasrotia, addressed prevalent corruption issues, underscoring their negative impact on society and suggesting actionable solutions. Shri Charanjit Singh commended the ACB’s efforts to educate public officials and emphasized the importance of integrity in both personal and professional spheres”.
“Additionally, ACB held an awareness program for Geology and Mining Department officials in Kathua, which included local participants such as tractor, trolley, and crusher operators. Shri Sunny Gupta, DySP ACB, presented insights into frequent complaints against the department, followed by Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner of Kathua Shri Rakesh Minhas, IAS, who lauded ACB’s role in promoting anti-corruption awareness among public servants and community members”.
Feedback was collected from participants via a mobile app to measure awareness and gather input for future anti-corruption efforts.(KINS)
