IGP Kmr visits Khanyar as encounter erupts

SRINAGAR, Nov 02 (KINS): An encounter broke out early this morning in the Khanyar area of Srinagar district, leading to an intense exchange of fire between militants and security forces.
News agency KINS reported that the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vidhi Kumar Birdi arrived on the scene to oversee the ongoing operation.
The encounter began as police and security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area after receiving intelligence about terrorist presence. As forces moved in, terrorists reportedly opened fire, prompting a swift and coordinated response.
Police officials confirmed that security forces are fully engaged, working to neutralize the threat and ensure the safety of residents in the vicinity.
The operation remains underway, with heightened security measures implemented in and around Khanyar as authorities continue their efforts.(KINS)
