Srinagar, Nov 4: Senior BJP leader Sunil Sharma, newly elected as the Leader of Opposition (LoP) in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly, extended his congratulations to Speaker Abdul Rahim Rather and praised his extensive legislative experience.
“Sir, I congratulate you for being elected as the Speaker. You have a vast experience of being in this House. You have been in government and also in the opposition. From the opposition side, I assure you full support. We all would learn from your experience,” said Sharma.
Emphasizing the significance of the opposition’s role, Sharma advocated for increased attention to opposition members compared to the treasury benches. He noted the youthful energy within the opposition and committed to maintaining discipline and following parliamentary rules.
Sharma’s election as LoP on November 3 marks a pledge for constructive and respectful opposition within the legislative assembly.
