Srinagar, Nov 05 (KINS): In the first Assembly session of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory (UT), vast experience of old guards and young blood sits under one roof to chase their goals.
While the veterans pin high hopes on the winter session to be held in Jammu, the newcomers hope to seek resolution of the issues related to their constituencies.
Talking to news agency KINS exclusively in the premises of J&K Legislative Assembly, MLA Kulgam M Y Tarigami said they have high hopes pinned on the winter session that would take place in Jammu in the coming months.
“Government will have to do some real business. Veterans will use their experience to seek answers from the government and young ones will also raise issues. That’s how affairs are done democratically, “he said.
Tarigami hinted that the most prestigious issue of Article 370 will be raised in the House in winter session.
“Bigger issues will be discussed there (in Jammu),” he said.
The first MLA from Sonawari, Hilal Akbar Lone said the Assembly is a great place to learn from old guards. “We are here because of people and need to raise people’s issues. As far as statehood, that’s a commitment made by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah. Now as far as Article 370, we will not drag our feet from it and it will be discussed properly,” he told KINS.
Lone said that there would be a budget session where business will definitely include Article 370.
He said PDP MLA flouted the rules by submitting resolution at a time when there was Speaker’s motion.
BJP MLA RS Pathania said Article 370 is a closed chapter. “It is something done and dusted. The Supreme Court has also closed the file,” he told KINS.
The BJP MLA said that they will raise issues related to the people which are of great importance.
BJP MLA from Kishtwar Shagun Parihar said that job creation issues is her top priority and day to day issues also holds importance for her (KINS)
