Terrorist associate apprehended with arms and ammunition in Handwara

Handwara, 5th November 2024 – In a major security operation, Handwara Police, in collaboration with the 22 Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and the 92nd Battalion CRPF, apprehended a terrorist associate during a Cordon and Search Operation in the Bongam Chogul area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Handwara. The suspect has been identified as Ashiq Hussain Wani, son of Ab Kareem Wani, a resident of Tujjer Shareef, Sopore.
During the operation, authorities recovered one pistol, a magazine, and seven live rounds from Wani’s possession. Following his apprehension, a case has been registered under FIR No. 200/2024 at Police Station Handwara, with further investigation now underway.

The successful operation highlights the ongoing commitment of security forces to counter-terrorism efforts in the region, aiming to safeguard peace and prevent unlawful activities.
