Congress backs public resentment against J&K downgrading: CLP Leader Mir

Srinagar, Nov 6 ( KINS ) : Jammu & Kashmir Congress Legislature Party (CLP) Leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir stated on Wednesday that the Congress Party stands with the public’s resentment over the downgrading and bifurcation of the former state of J&K, labeling the action by the BJP-led central government as “undemocratic” and “unconstitutional.”
Mir referred to the resolution passed by the Congress Working Committee (CWC) on August 5, 2019, which supported public sentiment against the division of J&K, reiterating the party’s commitment to advocating for the restoration of J&K’s statehood and its special status.
Highlighting the recent resolution for restoring J&K’s special status in the Legislative Assembly, Mir noted that during the last assembly elections, it was evident that the people of J&K widely rejected the reorganization, seeking the return of their dignity, rights, and statehood.
“The Congress Party demands the immediate restoration of Jammu and Kashmir’s statehood, with constitutional protections for land, jobs, resources, and cultural identity,” Mir emphasized.( KINS )
