If CM Omar Abdullah or anyone proves J&K has special status, I will quit politics: BJP leader Sunil Sharma

KINS DESK

Srinagar, Nov 13 (KINS): Jammu and Kashmir Bhartya Janata Party senior leader and Leader of Opposition Sunil Sharma, strongly criticized the special status resolution passed by the J&K Legislative Assembly, asserting that there is “no special status” for Jammu & Kashmir.
Sharma was clear that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would uphold the Indian Constitution in the J&K Assembly and would firmly oppose any resolution seeking to bring back Article 370.
Sunil Sharma directly challenged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as well as anyone who supports the idea of special status for J&K. “If Omar Abdullah or anyone can prove that there is special status in J&K, I am willing to quit politics,” Sharma told reporters as per news agency KINS.
“The special status of the National Conference means two flags, two constitutions. Is this what they want? We will never allow it,” he said.
“The Speaker, acting like a party spokesperson, talked about the need for a special status. Do they think we will listen to this silently?” he questioned.
The BJP leader’s comments come as the issue of special status resolution passed by the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly remains a sensitive topic in J&K.(KINS)
