CM Omar Abdullah ensures swift relief for Abi Gurpora fire victims

Srinagar, Nov 20 (KINS): In response to a devastating fire in Abi Gurpora that destroyed numerous homes and displaced 26 families, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah announced a series of immediate and long-term relief measures to support the affected families.
The CM on his social media handle wrote, “I assigned my esteemed cabinet colleague, Satish Sharma Ji, my trusted Advisor, Nasir Aslam Wani Sahib, and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq Sahib to visit the site to assess the damage and ensure immediate assistance.”
“Following the visit, ₹20,000 in cash assistance was distributed to each affected family yesterday”.
“Additional relief measures include ₹1.30 lakh per household through the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF), along with essential supplies such as tents, utensils, and blankets,” CM wrote as per news agency KINS.
From the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, each family will receive ₹1 lakh, three months’ worth of ration, stoves, and gas cylinders by this evening. Furthermore, MLA Tanvir Sadiq has pledged additional aid from his Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
“Together we are committed to providing swift and comprehensive support to those in need during such challenging times,” Omar Abdullah added.(KINS)
