Srinagar Police arrests drug peddler recovers large quantity of psychotropic substances

Srinagar, Nov 27 (KINS): In a continued crackdown on the drug menace, Srinagar police arrested a drug peddler and seized a significant amount of psychotropic substances. The arrest was made by a police party from Police Station M.R Gunj, who apprehended Altaf Ahmad Shah, a resident of Dalal Mohalla, Zainakadal.
Police recovered 500 tablets of a banned composition and 15 bottles of Codeine Phosphate from Shah’s Hyundai i-20, which was registered under JK15A-8122. The drugs were cleverly concealed in the boot cavity and under the driver’s seat. The vehicle used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
A case has been registered under FIR No. 48/2024 at Police Station M.R Gunj, and an investigation is underway.
Authorities have urged the community to report any information related to drug peddling and assured that those found involved will face strict legal action.(KINS)
