Sopore police arrest two drug peddlers; Seize psychotropic substances

November 28 (KINS): In a continued effort to combat the drug menace, police in Sopore apprehended two drug peddlers and seized a quantity of psychotropic substances.
A team from Sopore Police Station and Police Post Bus Stand, led by the Station House Officer (SHO) under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Sopore, intercepted two individuals at a checkpoint in Neharpora Sopore.
The suspects, identified as Nazir Ahmad Shah, alias Bedana, and Nasir Yousuf Shah, alias Bada Anta, both residents of Neharpora Sopore, were found in possession of 264 capsules of the banned drug SpasmoProxyvon Plus during the search. The duo was immediately taken into custody and shifted to Sopore Police Station.
An FIR (No. 243/2024) has been registered under relevant sections of the law, and further investigation is underway.
Police have urged the public to support efforts to eradicate drug abuse, reiterating their commitment to taking stringent action against offenders in accordance with the law.(KINS)
