MLA Uri visits market, urges quick rehabilitation of shopkeepers

Srinagar, Dec 03 (KINS): The MLA of Uri, along with officials including SDM Uri and Tehsildar Uri, visited the main market to check the progress of the ongoing road-widening project.
Members of Beopar Mandal Uri, including Aijaz Ahmad Yatoo, Yasir Arfat Banday, Bashir Ahmed Wathloo, and Abdul Hamid Banday, joined the visit to voice the concerns of local shopkeepers affected by the project.
The MLA reviewed the issues caused by the road-widening work and instructed the SDM and Tehsildar to speed up the process of rehabilitating shopkeepers.
He directed officials to locate and use empty spaces in the area to provide alternative spaces for displaced shop owners quickly.
The MLA emphasized the need to balance development projects with protecting the livelihoods of local traders. He assured the Beopar Mandal representatives that their issues would be resolved soon and promised to ensure a smooth transition for affected businesses.
The Beopar Mandal members thanked the MLA for addressing their concerns and expressed their support for the development initiatives. SDM Uri and Tehsildar Uri committed to starting the rehabilitation process immediately to minimize disruptions to the market.(KINS)
