Srinagar Dec 10 (KINS): The National Conference-led government has established a three-member Cabinet Sub-Committee (CSC) to address the grievances of youth in Jammu and Kashmir related to reservation rules.
This move comes as part of the administration’s efforts to ensure transparency and equity in the recruitment process while addressing concerns raised by aspirants for various government posts.
According to an official order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the committee will be headed by Sakina Masood Itto, the Minister for Social Welfare. Joining her are Javed Rana, the Minister for Public Health Engineering, and Satish Sharma, the Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs. This three-member committee according to news agency KINS has been tasked with closely examining the concerns raised by aspirants regarding the application of reservation policies in recruitment and other employment-related matters.
The formal establishment of this sub-committee follows nearly 18 days after its approval by the cabinet, signaling a swift response to the rising debate and concerns among the youth. The CSC has been directed to engage in consultations with all relevant stakeholders to assess and address the reservations’ perceived inequities and shortcomings.
The GAD order specifies that the Social Welfare Department will service the CSC, ensuring logistical and administrative support. Once the sub-committee has completed its investigation and consultations, it will submit its findings and recommendations to the Council of Ministers.
This development comes at a time when concerns about recruitment processes and fairness in reservation policies have intensified, particularly among the youth who are seeking employment opportunities within Jammu and Kashmir’s administration. Many aspirants have alleged discrepancies in the application of the reservation rules, which they believe hinder fair competition and equitable access to opportunities.
The move to form the CSC is expected to bring clarity and fairness to the process by offering a structured platform to review these concerns. (KINS)
